Vision for Maternity Care System
Washington DC - Childbirth Connection today released two landmark reports that create a framework for revamping maternity care in the US and advancing health care reform: "2020 Vision for a High Quality, High Value Maternity Care System" and "Blueprint for Action."

The reports were developed through an extensive multi-year collaboration with more than 100 maternity care leaders representing industry stakeholders - from hospitals and health plans to consumers and providers. These reports and related papers have just been published in a special supplement of Women's Health Issues.

The "2020 Vision" and "Blueprint for Action" reports are freely available on the Women's Health Issues website at: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/issue/5192-2010-999799998.8998-1591119

A fund raising project in the works!
We are putting together a picture book - like a coffee table book - for COINN fund raising. We are seeking pictures of mothers, babies, nurses, nicu's etc for publication. These photos will need to be good quality with permission to reproduce them signed and returned to us with EACH photo. If you have any photos that you would like to submit, please contact Janice Zasada at J.Zasada@coinnurses.org for a copyright release form. Once you have the form, please fill it out and submit it with your photos to Janice at the email address listed above.

We will inform all those whose photos are accepted and will appear in the book as soon as the decisions have been made.

Research Collaborators Wanted
We are interested in collaborating with researchers interested in collecting and analyzing data related to the push-pull factors associated with immigration and transnational migration of health care workers.

This comparative project is designed to explore, evaluate, and contrast the economic, social, political, and professional factors associated with the immigration of health care workers from developing countries to the US, Europe, and Canada. This project is in the development stage and has some seed research support to jump-start it.

Anyone interested in collaborating on this project should send their contact information to: Janice Zasada, Office Manager at: J.Zasada@coinnurses.org.

Regional representatives needed
COINN is looking for both neonatal and pediatric regional representation in areas where we currently have none. You can go to our Regional Networks page to see our current contacts.

Please contact Janice Zasada at J.Zasada@coinnurses.org if you or any of your colleagues know of anyone that would be interested in joining the growing world that is COINN.
