Welcome to IMNHC 2023! Tuesday, 09 May, 2023

For the first time in more than eight years, the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference 2023 has brought together the maternal newborn health community in Cape Town, South Africa. More than 1,600 stakeholders from over 95 countries have come together to accelerate solutions to improve maternal and newborn survival and prevent stillbirths as we strive to achieve the ambitious targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Plenary livestreams

IMNHC 2023 livestreams will begin today with the opening plenary at 8:00 SAST. All seven of our plenary sessions will be livestreamed in four languages (English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese). You do not need to be registered as an attendee to view these livestream sessions. LEARN MORE

Reminders for onsite delegates

Presenter room The presenter room is open Tuesday and Wednesday, 08-10 May from 08:00-17:00 in room 1.51 and 1.52. Please note that you must ensure your presentation is dropped off in the presenter room no less than 24 hours before the day of your session, otherwise we will not have it set up and ready for your presentation. If you attempted to upload your presentation prior to 04 May, we encourage you to log into your profile to ensure it was properly saved. Click here to read more presenter guidance. Download the Dryfta app We highly encourage all delegates to download the Dryfta app to easily access conference programming from their mobile device. Among the features of the app, you will be able to create a personal schedule; rate sessions you attend; connect with attendees and speakers; and keep up to date with session room changes, times and more! Download for iOS | Download for AndroidTranslation In-person translation will be provided in select rooms in French, Portuguese, and Spanish. You can pick up an interpretation headset next to registration. This will be offered in the following rooms in CITCC 1 and 2:

  • Auditorium 1

  • Auditorium 2

  • Roof Terrace

  • Watsonia and Bluebell

We are also excited to pilot AI translation in 29 different languages in select rooms at CTICC 2. To use, you will scan a QR code at the room entrance with your phone, select your preferred language from 29 language options, and then use your own headset to listen to translated audio. You will also be able to read a transcript on your device. AI translation will be offered in the following rooms in CITCC 2:

  • Orchid

  • Daisy

  • Freesia

Conference badges Kind reminder for all delegates to please bring and wear your conference badge each conference day. We have limited capacity to reprint badges onsite.
