“Zero Separation” keep parents and babies born too soon together.


Whilst there is still so much uncertainty with the pandemic, there ismuch to be encouraged by the current involvement of neonatal nurses in significant global forums. As I write this news, Twitter is a buzz with updates from the PMNCH forum “Maintaining essential services during COVID19 pandemic. Lessons learned from 19 countries”. However, the most significant involvement is participation in the ICN Congress that has virtually connected nurses for global health, impact influence and action. There is recognition that extraordinary times call for extra ordinary people and nurses answer that call time and time again. Whilst we are focussing on the COP26 intentions and the undisputed global evidence this year

that climate change is happening now, it is timely to share a quote from Florence Nightingale

 

“I think one’s feelings waste themselves in words; they ought all to be distilled into actions, which bring results.”
