The Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN) is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our Non-Executive Board Member, Dr. Shela Hirani, who has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal by the Canadian Nurses Association.

This distinguished medal recognises Dr. Hirani’s exceptional contributions to nursing, community service, and to Canada. Her commitment to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes—particularly in vulnerable and underserved populations—reflects the very essence of what this medal stands for: service, dedication, and excellence.

In 2023, Dr. Hirani was also honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Government of Canada—further testament to her tireless advocacy and impactful work.

As a global voice in neonatal nursing, Dr. Hirani’s leadership continues to inspire nurses worldwide. At COINN, we are deeply honored to have her as part of our leadership team, and we celebrate this well-earned recognition of her efforts.

Congratulations, Dr. Hirani! Your work changes lives, and your dedication elevates our profession globally.

Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
