Celebrating a Year of Global Impact in Neonatal Nursing

As 2024 draws to a close, The Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN) and The Community of Neonatal Nursing Practice (CoNP) reflect on a year of incredible achievements, global outreach, and meaningful connections within the neonatal nursing community. Here’s a glimpse into the milestones we achieved together:
• Global Reach: COINN connected with 136 countries, and CoNP expanded its reach to 147 countries—an astounding 165 countries combined.
• Engagement Highlights:
• COINN hosted 11,529 site sessions with 6,873 unique visitors.
• CoNP saw 9,238 site sessions with 4,465 unique visitors.
• Community Growth: COINN welcomed 251 new site members, while CoNP added 427 new site members to our growing family.
• Professional Development:
• 332 course participants advanced their skills through our training programs.
• 1.16k learners on the WCEA platform.
• Events & Collaboration: Together, we hosted 5 webinars and organized 3 conferences, bringing together neonatal professionals to share knowledge, innovate, and collaborate.

This year’s accomplishments showcase our shared commitment to elevating neonatal care worldwide. Thank you to every neonatal nurse, partner, and supporter who made this possible. Here’s to even greater strides in 2025!

The timeline piece is what I’d want to map out on a calendar right away — 6 months and a day is oddly specific, and I could see someone missing it if they’re juggling work and kids. Does the program let you pause contributions temporarily, or is it basically “stay consistent or restart”? For keeping myself on track I’ve used little checklists from this site before, and the same kind of simple prompts might help folks stick with the saving plan.
Programs like this seem especially helpful because they combine a strong incentive with accountability (classes + coaching), instead of just telling people to “budget better.” Also appreciated the clarity on the cap: $6,000 match max is straightforward. Weird comparison, but it’s kind of like tweaking inputs until the output looks right in an imgg workflow — the structure matters as much as motivation.
Those country/reach numbers are kind of wild — it’s easy to forget how global neonatal nursing networks have become until you see 136+ countries spelled out. I’m also curious how you’re measuring “reach” vs. “members” year to year, because the engagement metrics can be tricky to interpret (I’ve been down the rabbit hole with things like CaesarCipher where the same question comes up around sessions vs. unique visitors). Either way, the webinar + conference mix feels like a solid way to keep people connected across time zones.
The coaching + Common Cents requirement seems like the real secret sauce here, since saving is hard when you’re also trying to dig out of debt or repair credit. I’d love to know what the typical monthly deposit target looks like for people who hit the full match. Tangentially, the “steps + guidance” structure reminds me of how directories like https://hrefgo.com walk you through submitting info in a consistent format — small process things that keep people moving.
I like that it’s clear the match isn’t just “free money” — it’s earned by actually saving and doing the classes/coaching. The max match math (save 2k, end up with 8k total) makes it easy to wrap your head around. Side note, the strict timelines made me think of how I’ll set little reminders for myself even for silly stuff like https://blockblast.co so I don’t lose a streak — same brain, different stakes.
