The International Council of Nurses held its 2023 Congress in Montreal, Canada in July. More than 6000 participants came together to discuss the globally health care issues including workforce-staffing, quality care, need for training to retain nurses, climate change, and preparation for the next pandemic. COINN is proud to be an affiliate member and to attend the Council of Nation Nursing Representatives policy meetings. COINN Board members Professors Marina Boykova and Shela Hirani, along with CEO Professor Carole Kenner met with many National Nursing Organization Presidents, ICN Chief Nurse Michelle Acorn, and were introduced to the new Chief Nurse of WO, Dr. Amelia Latu Afuhaamango Tuipulotu. These meetings are important to advance COINN’s work and broaden our global reach.
